Thanks to the Warriors.

I know a girl who just returned from a 10 month deployment. She had her hard days but she made it through. I know a boy who just began a 7 month deployment. He will have his hard days but he will make it through.

Okay, they aren't boys and girls anymore, are they? But in my heart they always will be in some way. Truthfully, they are men and women in the service of the military. They stepped up to the plate, each for their own reasons, and chose to stand between us and evil.

As a matter of fact, there are people who make that choice all over the country. Whether they are deployed, serving in the military, police, firemen, or sometimes ordinary citizens, some choose to stand between good and evil all the time. They are warriors.

This is what you need to know about a true warrior. They are that way by heart. It is in their nature to protect those who need to be protected. They stand with others, shoulder to shoulder, and sometimes they stand on their own. They do what they can when they can, and sometimes without even a moment's hesitation. They fight for those who can not fight, and they are honorable.

They are not perfect. They stumble, fall, make bad decisions, doubt, and sometimes question their very choices. But when it comes right down to the bottom line, they are who they are. Fighting that inborn desire to be a warrior only causes more internal struggle. They do not want our worship, or a false gratitude. They want to do their jobs, be who they are, and move through this life the same way we all do. With peace.

Are you a warrior? Do you stand between others and evil? Do you wish you could make this a safer world for all to live in?

Then thank you for your heart. Thank you for your life. Thank you for your spirit.
