Book plan for this year.

I'm doing something a little different with my reading this year. I don't normally have a plan of any kind, but it was a plan last summer which got me back reading like I like. I have to admit, I dropped the plan and never picked it back up, but the goal was to get reading again, and so I am.

I read a lot of nonfiction, love memoirs, and a good autobiography makes my day, but there will always always be a sweet spot for fiction in my heart. After reading The Happiness Project I decided that this would be the year of reading children's fiction.

To be honest, I don't remember being a big big reader when I was younger. I do have a few favorite books from that time, but I know there is a lot I have never read. There has also been so many new authors since I was a child! It's time to discover them. I'm looking forward to the possibilities.

These will be my first ventures, and hopefully they will make the list.

  1. Aw, I think that's wonderful! Kids' books are great... Being a 4th grade teacher, my mom has read lots of children's books for years, but I think she just uses being a teacher as an excuse! :)

    1. I'm sure she has! She should write a book about the best books. :) Seriously, what better experience than what she has had!

    1. We did quite a few read alouds, but I never entered into their personal choice, for some odd reason. It's fun to pick girl books!! LOL

  3. I have been having fun reading the books that Lindsay reads- like Trixie Belden! We are currently reading "Half Upon a Time" by James Riley and my kids are riveted! We are on chapter 28 and we still have a long way to go.
Sounds like a fun plan to me!!!

    1. Oh, that sounds like one I would pick up. So far the books I have had all shared a little mystery or fantasy.

    1. You know, I never did read a lot of his books! I should make a list. :) I have read some of the Fairy books though when I watched a little one years back.
