A little tweaking.

I loved the header I had, but a problem stuck in my brain. You see, someone asked me where I came up with it. Now, the picture was mine - I drew it. But the idea, well, not mine. Not by a long shot. And that got me thinking... I want this space to represent me, not a copy of someone else. Yes, I have been set free from the cage I had been living in, but that was thanks to so many people who held different keys to the different locks. The last blog header was a bit of a homage to that time in my life, which was great. It was needed. But now, I realize, it's time to move on. Time to do what they set me free to do, be more me.

It's just a little tweaking, and if you follow me at the blog's face book page I have a new header there as well. Youngest and I went out to a local lake and took a few shots. Or I should say we started out with me saying, "Let's go! I have a camera and need some pictures." And we found ourselves at a local lake. It wasn't the shot I was looking for, imagine fields where you can see FOREVER, but honestly it hit home. The tree, the lake, the horizon... perfect.

Sometimes it's small tweaks that allow us to be more authentically us. Sometimes they are still hard to make. I hope as you continue to process who you are and are meant to be those tweaks bring you joy when you complete them.

    1. How weird is it that I do too?! I usually hate pictures of me laughing, but he did such a great job taking the shot. I probably need to put the camera in his hand more often.

  4. Your header picture is so serene and inviting. Lovely profile picture, too! Design elements on these blogs are such a personal reflection of us, aren't they? Changing them is a big deal. Kudos!
